| Mr Gavin Clark |
Dr. Clark is a highly accomplished clinician scientist with a PhD in orthopaedic surgery and more than 20 years of experience in total knee replacement (TKR) alignment research. His work has advanced computer-assisted, robotic and individualized alignment arthroplasty techniques, supported by numerous high-impact publications, registries and randomized controlled trials.
Over the past three years, Dr. Clark has been Head of the Orthopaedic Department at St John of God Subiaco Private Hospital. He also co-founded a private practice, Perth Hip and Knee Clinic, focused on research in the fields of arthroplasty and advanced technologies. The Perth Hip and Knee Clinic was instrumental in obtaining the first Mako system in Australia at St. John of God Subiaco Private Hospital.
As an Associate Professor of Clinical Research at the University of Western Australia, Dr. Clark is active in medical education, providing regular lectures to medical students, nurses, junior medical staff and general practitioners. He was also instrumental in the development of the Australian Mako education pathway as a trainer, holding regular surgical observations for surgeons throughout the APAC region.
Dr. Clark is currently on the executive committee of the Arthroplasty Society of Australia, a member of the International Knee Society and international member of several arthroplasty societies including American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
When he’s not with his patients or conducting research, he enjoys spending time with his family, keeping fit and improving his golf game.

Gavin consults from Perth Hip & Knee’s main consulting suites in Subiaco, as well as from the rooms of Midland Orthopaedics.
Gavin Operates from SJOG Subiaco and SJOG Midland Private and Public Hospitals.
